Merlot and Melodies: An Evening with Tara Lyn Hart
Back from “Down Under”, where Pastor Perry Hart served the Waikerie parish of the Lutheran Church of Australia, Tara Lyn Hart is the featured guest at this year’s seminary fund- and friend-raising dinner. The Juno nominee and Canadian Country Music Association award winner lifted our spirits with music at a series of annual Valentine’s Day dinners before she and her husband left the seminary. They also produced a Christmas album in support of the seminary. We are overjoyed to have them back.
“Merlot and Melodies” is an evening of dinner and music held in a restored Victorian barn among the beautiful Niagara vineyards. A silent auction and other opportunities to support Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary will accompany the dinner. Those who wish to come at the end of the dinner just to hear the music may purchase an “Entertainment Only” ticket.
Seating is limited. Groups purchasing eight tickets together will be able to reserve a table. Register online and send payment to the seminary before 31 May to confirm your ticket. Send a cheque or bring cash to the seminary, or phone in a credit card number (905-688-2362: Wendy, x 24, or Sue, x 23).
When? Sunday, 16 June 2019. Doors open at 6pm, dinner at 6.30pm, entertainment at 7.30pm

Lay Course: Theology of Spirituality
Theology of Spirituality is where the doctrinal teaching of the church meets with the practical life of faith; what Christians believe forms and is formed by how they pray, preach, sing and praise God.
This Lent season Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary offers a six-part lesson series on the Theology of Lutheran Spirituality. Instead of a broad overview, this course seeks to examine particular aspects of Lutheran faith and their impact on devotional life of Lutheran Christians.
“At times I, who teach this and prescribe it to others, have learned from my own example that praying comes close to being the most difficult of all works. Therefore I do not claim to be a master in this task.“ (Martin Luther)
The instructor for the course is assistant professor of systematic theology, Rev Esko Murto. Course includes a fee of $50. Meetings are held each Monday in Lent season from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
Please register yourself for the class by sending email to email@example.com or calling 289-929-4286. Welcome!
