Talking about “The Wittenberg Reformation”

On the evening of Monday, 19 June 2017, Dr John Stephenson skipped over to the circuit in Western New York in which he served as a pastor from 1986 to 1989. In the context of LCC’s Reformation 500 celebration, he addressed a discussion group chaired by Pr Alan Bauch (CLTS 2005) on the topic of The Wittenberg Reformation, a small book published by Dr Winger and himself a year ago. That evening the group met at St John’s Lutheran Church in Wheatfield, Niagara Falls.

Around forty people, including a couple from the ELCA and a local Roman Catholic, made up a lively, engaged, and well informed audience. The photograph shows Dr Stephenson with Pr Bauch, a regular preacher at the seminary who in recent years has represented the President of the Missouri Synod at the annual Call Service, and Pr Domenick Lettieri (CLTS 2012).
