Curling enthusiasts, both seasoned and greenhorn, flocked to Williamsford, Ontario for the inaugural Concordia Rocks Bonspiel. As is tradition in Grey County, the curlers were greeted with some delightful homemade treats and coffee, with a cheeky dash of Bailey’s to kick things off just right. The competition got off to a roaring start with six teams vying for the ultimate prize.

Amidst the matches, a fierce battle for crokinole supremacy raged on, adding an extra layer of excitement. A highlight of the day? A lip-smacking lunch featuring top-notch Grey County beef.

Even three seminarians, Albert Ho, Mark Du, and Daniel Cunningham, took a crack at curling despite being total rookies. Mark exclaimed, “What a blast! The area was stunning, and the people were incredibly friendly.” Taking home the glory was the dream team of Dr. Tom Korcok (Skip), Mark Kuhl, Donna Kurt, and Seminarian Daniel Cunningham.

Plans are already in the works for the next bonspiel, slated for November 23rd. Mark it on your calendars!

A big shoutout to our sponsors, including Dave and Karen Kuhl of Kuhl Machine Shop, Harris Kuhl, and Lloyd and Joyce Bauman. Let’s not forget to give a round of applause to Carol Clark, the event organizer extraordinaire, and all those who helped her and donated food including Donna Becket, Barbara Schwartz, Donna Kurt, Bill Kuhl, Ruth Ann Kuhl and Dianna Brown. Their meticulous attention to detail made it all possible. Every penny raised went toward supporting the Student Aid Fund.

If you’re interested in organizing an event on behalf of the seminary, get in touch with the development office by emailing: reception@concordia-seminary.ca.
