Lisa Jackson and Isla Krestick greet happy golfers at the registration table

It was a beautiful June morning and 68 golfers appeared at Conestoga Golf Club outside of Waterloo for the annual seminary golf tournament. Everything came together to ensure an enjoyable day was had by all. The weather for the day was superb and the friendship was outstanding. There was the usual enjoyment of a best-ball game, a BBQ lunch, and a buffet supper.

Prizes went to the winning team, the winner of a putting contest, the longest drive, and closest to the pin.

During the banquet, Dr. Winger highlighted the work of the seminary and expressed gratitude towards the individuals who contributed to the success of the event.

The Winning Team: The Krestick Family

The success of this annual event would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Garfinkle Biderman LLP for graciously sponsoring the lunch and to Sawmill Golf Course, Lutheran Laymen’s League of Canada, Martin Sheppard Fraser LLP, and Lutheran Foundation Canada for their valuable sponsorships, as well as our numerous hole sponsors for their contributions. We are truly grateful for the continuous support and commitment from our sponsors, as their involvement contributes to the success of our event.

Furthermore, a special thanks goes out to the dedicated organizing committee members, including Wayne Weiberg, who played a pivotal role in coordinating with the golf club, Donna Kurt, Lisa Jackson, Dave Braun, and Maria Munoz from the seminary.

We eagerly anticipate the future and look forward to next year’s event. We encourage everyone to mark their calendars with June 2, 2025, for what promises to be another memorable and enjoyable tournament. Once again, our sincere gratitude goes out to each and every individual and organization that played a part in making this tournament a tremendous success.

More photos of the event are here. Thanks to John Becht for providing them!
