Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary has recently been gifted a rare treasure: a small volume containing six captivating pamphlets produced by Martin Luther between 1520 and 1539. These original printings are not just historical artifacts; they offer a glimpse into some of Luther’s lesser-known writings and illuminate the fervour of his revolutionary ideas. As the oldest works in the library’s collection, they present a unique opportunity to feel the excitement and impact that Luther’s printed words had on their first readers and to witness how the Reformation ignited across Europe.
You are invited to join us for a presentation on these extraordinary pamphlets by Prof. Kirk Radford on October 31, 2024, at Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary. Prof. Radford, a dedicated scholar in Reformation Studies, will delve into the significance of these works. And the best part? You’ll have the chance to see the actual volume on display, allowing you to engage with this historic material firsthand.
The day’s events will commence with a Reformation Day chapel service at 10:00 AM with the presentation scheduled for 10:45 AM.
While there’s no admission fee, we kindly ask you to register by emailing reception@concordia-seminary.ca. Don’t miss this opportunity to discover the transformative nature of some of Martin Luther’s writings.
