Curling enthusiasts, both novices and pros, made their way to Williamsford, Ontario for the 2nd Annual Concordia Rocks Bonspiel. As is tradition in Grey County, the curlers were greeted with some delightful homemade treats and coffee, with a delicious dash of Bailey’s to kick things off. The competition got off to a roaring start with six teams vying for the ultimate prize.

The seminary was robustly represented with seminarians Mark Du, Augustine Aylin, and Tim Bayha — all of them fearless rookies. Even Vicar Vijay Samuel tried his hand at the ancient sport. For Australian student, Tim Bayha, this was his first time standing on ice of any sort. He exclaimed, “This was such a great introduction to the famous Canadian pastime. The people were so welcoming.” Not to be left out, the faculty and staff were ably represented by Dr. Korcok and sem librarian, Rebecca Atwood.

A highlight of the day was a wonderful lunch of Grey County beef on a bun and generous helpings of homemade food.
A day like this wouldn’t be a success without our sponsors Dave and Karen Kuhl of Kuhl Machine Shop, Harris Kuhl, and Lloyd and Joyce Bauman. Let’s not forget our organizer, Carol Clark, whose enthusiasm motivated everyone. Thanks also to those who helped her and donated food including Donna Becket, Dianna Brown, Donna Kurt, and Kim and Ruth Ann Kuhl. Their generosity made it all possible. Thank you one and all! Every penny raised went toward the Student Aid Fund.

Missed it this year? No worries! Plans are already underway for Concordia Rocks III scheduled for Saturday November 22, 2025.
