Curling sheets were polished and enthusiasm ran high as both seasoned veterans and eager novices gathered in Williamsford, Ontario, for the 3rd Annual Concordia Rocks Bonspiel. The event successfully brought the supporters of Concordia together to have a bit of fun and raise funds for the Concordia Seminary’s Student Aid Fund.

In keeping with local tradition, participants were greeted with warm Grey County hospitality, including homemade treats, fresh coffee, and a “delicious dash of Bailey’s” to kick off the morning’s intense competition. Eight spirited teams took to the ice, vying for the coveted Bonspiel trophy.
Concordia was represented by seminarians Augustine Aylin, Andrew Hayes, and Pastor Willy Dieudonne.

Pastor Dieudonne, who is studying at the seminary this year, is from Haiti. This event marked the very first time Pastor Dieudonne had ever set foot on the ice. Despite his novice status, he embraced the sport and, by the end of the day, was curling like he was in the Brier.
Support & Generous Sponsors
The mid-day break featured a wonderful, locally-sourced lunch of classic Grey County beef on a bun, complemented by a generous spread of homemade side dishes. The event’s success was a testament to the dedication of the community and its sponsors.

A special thank you to our generous sponsors and organizers.
We also recognize the tireless efforts of our lead organizer, Carol Clark, whose enthusiasm motivated everyone involved. Thanks are also extended to those who helped and generously donated food and sponsorship including: Donna Becket, Dianna Brown, Donna Kurt, and Kim and Ruth Anne Kuhl, Harris Kuhl, Barb and Herb Schwartz, and Karen Kuhl. Their collective generosity ensured that every penny raised went directly toward the Student Aid Fund.
