Opening Service 2023

The opening service for the 48th academic year at Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary will take place on Sunday, 10 September 2023, 4:00pm, in the seminary chapel. We invite the church community to join the students, staff, and faculty for this festive occasion. The service will be live-streamed from our YouTube channel.

During the service Rev. Kirk Radford will be installed as Assistant Professor of Theology. Rev. Radford, formerly pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, Sarnia, Ontario, accepted the call to join our faculty last June. He will spend the 2023-24 academic year completing a Master of Sacred Theology degree at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, before beginning to teach full-time in September 2024. We are pleased to be able to present him publicly to the church, bless him with God’s Word and prayer, and commit to him this solemn responsibility.

If you cannot attend, please pray for the students as they begin their studies, for the seminary faculty that they may be faithful in their calling, for the dedicated staff who support them, and for God to raise up benefactors for our seminary whose gifts will ensure that this important work continues.
