Do you want to read the New Testament with understanding? Beginning on Tuesday, 1 February 2011, 7:00pm, Concordia Lutheran Theological Seminary, St. Catharines, will open its doors to anyone interested in a guided tour through the New Testament. The teacher will be Pastor Juhana Pohjola of Helsinki, Finland, who is a visiting scholar at the seminary for the next year or so.

The main goal will be to read the New Testament in English, but Pastor Pohjola will help the readers to discern the themes of each writing, its Law and Gospel message, and its focus on Jesus Christ. For those who wish to dig a little deeper, guided readings from a textbook will be provided.

The class meets once a week on Tuesdays from 1 February to 12 April. It is open to any interested laypeople at a cost of $50. No degree credit can be earned.

  1. Good Day,

I am interested in taking the course but I live in Kaministiquia (just outside of Thunder Bay). Will this be made available for people to attend via webcast?

    1. Sorry, we will not be able to do that this time. However, we are working on webcast technology, using it for a seminary class this term. If all goes well, we might be able to offer our lay classes this way next year. Thanks for asking.
