The seminary community is saddened by the news that David Schutz died this past weekend at the age of 77. Mr Schutz served on the CLTS Board of Regents for twelve years, beginning in 1999, and was chairman of the board for seven. In 2013 CLTS thanked him for his service with the Friend of the Seminary award. He showed his support in so many ways, including bringing a foursome each year to the golf tournament.
He was baptised at St John’s Lutheran Church, Pembroke, Ontario, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Toronto. He was an active member of many congregations in the Ontario/East District, most recently Prince of Peace, Burlington, where he was a keen choir member and elder.
While we grieve with his wife, Sheena, and family, we rejoice that the Lord granted him saving faith and has now welcomed him into eternal life.
The funeral service will be live-streamed on Thursday, 4 June, at 10am: https://youtu.be/qHRZqe-tVqo
